Eating our way through NYC
To continue the post-boards celebration, we made a trip to NY! Instead of the regularly (un)scheduled post, I have some delicious highlights.
First stop? Eataly!
One word: DELICIOUS. Inside is a madhouse, but your senses are overwhelmed with awesomeness.
Hazelnut and chocolate gelato: CHECK.
After a long day of walking, we made a stop at Momofuku Ssam Bar for PORK BUNS. I'm not sure if the all-caps really encapsulates my love of these pork buns or "gua bao".
When we were little, Em and I actually never ate these. Some time along the way, we came to our senses and we can't get enough. Em's getting the legit deal in Taiwan, but these ones were heavenly!!
Day 2: After a great bagel from Ess-a-bagel, we went to Artichoke pizza!! D had been talking about Artichoke for the entire year. The build up did not disappoint -the "Artichoke" pizza was beyond this world.
Eating the pizza was actually painful. I've never actually been in so much agony from eating something so delicious. For 5 people, we ordered an entire pie but a slice per person is more than enough!
After Artichoke, we went to Chelsea Market for some ice cold chocolate milk. Yay! It reminded me of a place we used to go for black and white cookies and chocolate milk back in upstate NY.
Day 3: Before getting on a bus back to Boston, we went to Shake Shack in Madison Square Park for some burger and fries goodness.
The trip was fabulously planned by D and we ate our little hearts out -perfect for a celebratory week!
